A school is a place of teaching and learning process between teacher and student. To be effective in the process of education, it is needed various supporting factors and facilities involved in teaching and learning process. Among these factors are educational media. Educational media is a tool used by teachers to facilitate students' understanding of the concepts being taught. One medium that can be used in helping students learn English is Johnny Grammar's Word Challenge.

Johnny Grammar's Word Challenge is a quiz for English learners to test common vocabulary, spelling, and grammar that appears in everyday English. This app is part of the British Council and they have been teaching more than 100 million people in 100 different countries to improve their English skills and build their confidence. Johnny Grammar's Word Challenge creates top English learning apps for learners of all ages.

Why do I recommend this app to learn English? Because this application is very complete for us who want to practice our ability in English. Johnny Grammar's Word Challenge has 3 quiz categories; words, grammar, and spelling and it consist of 3 levels; easy, medium and hard. It also has 10 common topics to practice vocabulary. There are food & restaurants, travel, small talk, hobbies etc. In grammar, they have 12 topics, there are prepositions, irregular verbs, conjunctions etc. Thus, learning to use this application can also be our capital to produce good writing and can improve our speaking skills.

This app is also easy to use. First, you have to download Johnny Grammar's Word Challenge app in the play store or app store. Once you downloaded there will be 3 options: log on Facebook, log in / register and if you want to access it offline choose the play as a guest. After entering you can choose if you want to practice vocabulary choose words column if you want to practice grammar please choose grammar column selection and lastly there is also spelling column. After selecting one of the columns, for example, a grammar column, it will have 12 more column choices with 3 different levels of adjectives & adverbs with easy level, infinities or gerund with a medium level, adverbial clauses with hard level, etc. After selecting one of the topics, you have to beat the clock and answer as many spelling, vocabulary and grammar questions as you can in this 60-second quiz. If your answer is the wrong to score you will be deducted 2 points and if the correct answer you will add 4 points. After the time runs out, you can see all your answers and if any of your answers are wrong you can see the actual answer which one. In this app, you can also play and compete with your friends and also all the people in the world. You can check your position by opening the Leaderboard column.
